Today, parsnip is commonly sold in grocery stores and markets.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><u>Purchase<\/u><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To choose fresh and tasty parsnip, make sure it is smooth, glossy, light in color and unblemished. Preferably choose it very firm. If it is soft, it is because it is not perfectly fresh. Watch that the root is medium in size: the larger ones are fibrous, while the smaller ones dry out quickly. The tip of the root cannot be eaten, so avoid parsnips that are too long. Finally, smell your parsnip, it should have a carrot-like smell.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><u>Preservation<\/u><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parsnip will keep for one week in the vegetable drawer of the refrigerator. To prolong this guard, put it in a kraft paper bag or in a kitchen towel. It is possible to keep it in the cellar all winter in slightly damp sand. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><u>Preparation<\/u><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parsnips are prepared and cooked like carrots. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><u>Nutritional values<\/u><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parsnip is very good for the acid-base balance thanks to the potassium it contains: a serving of 100 grams of raw parsnip covers almost alone our daily needs in this micronutrient. Parsnip also participates in better stress management thanks to the magnesium it contains.
